Hand Forged Hearts makes beautiful, personalised hearts, home and garden ware from used horse shoes and other metal.
Matt Wallis, a farrier from Sussex, has always been aware of the large amount of used horseshoes being sent to scrap. He realised he could upcycle them into unique gifts instead. A wedding present and birthday gift made for friends and family resulted in the birth of the business. Matt makes the products and his wife Harry deals with the admin side. Together they attend shows and pop up shops and run the business around work and family life. It truly is a joint venture and family affair!
Since its launch in March 2019, Hand Forged Hearts has made gifts for all the family. The product range has extended to home furnishings, garden ware, sculptures and commissions.
January 2021 saw the move to the existing forge, which means expansion of the product range. Most of the items can be personalised and shipped in a small parcel by Royal Mail, making it easy to send a personal gift to a loved one.
